Gordon Addams
It’s often said that change is the only constant in life, so it’s best for each and every one of us not only to stand ready to adapt to change, but also, where possible, to anticipate and drive change.
Inns of Zimbabwe celebrated its 25th anniversary during 2016, marking a quarter of a century’s service to the travel and tourism sector. Acknowledging the need to change, the group has undertaken a number of significant steps to allow it to survive and grow in what is by any standard a challenging working environment. So, building on 25 years of experience and tradition, we have looked at a new course of action which involves the opening of a new operation in the Bvumba called Grace’s Cottage – a self catering retreat and the creation of a new concept for the city of Mutare: a boutique bed and breakfast operation called Gordon’s on 125 First Street.
At the same time, the Inns of Zimbabwe franchise has been withdrawn from other operational units which have been the mainstay of our operation for many years, and while this is a development that no-one really wishes to see, it is sometimes necessary to take steps that focus on how change can be good for a brand. So it’s goodbye to the old and in with the new, and we are certain that our new ventures in the Eastern Highlands will be both successful and rewarding. We look forward to welcoming friends old and new into the new hospitality operations and we once again acknowledge that our job is to provide hospitality services that please and satisfy. Here’s to achieving just that for you.
